Capoeira fighter – Banisteriopsis Caapi. Collaborative mural with Waone  for @o.braFestival with support of @instagrafite

(November 2015, Sao Paulo, Brazil)

This mural based on our research about prehistoric, colonial and postcolonial periods of Brazilian history.
In the bottom part of the composition,  is Bep Kororoti, the mysterious celestial guru of Kayapo tribe, who still lives in the rain forest around the Amazon River in Brazil.
He is carring the book- earth on his head. Banisteriopsis caapi, a sacret plant  for indians of Amazonia, is growing from this book-earth,   Ayahuasca drink is made of this plant.
This book symbolizes the knowleges of all aboriginal people and tribes. The plant is transforming into human-capoeira fighter, who symbolizes the slave trade period and fight for the rights and freedom.
The head in a shining ring with the red cube punctured by the lightning depicts spiritual experience since colonial times till the modern age.
Shot down helicopter symbolizes modern time and technogenic civilalization and is the image of a new kind of slavery – economical.  Capoeira fighter is straggling with it.
